To apply for benefits, register as a jobseeker with Arbetsförmedlingen, on your first day of unemployment. You can then apply for unemployment benefits online via our e-service Mina sidor.

The amount you can receive in unemployment benefits depends on whether you qualify for income-based or basic benefits.

Income-based benefits can be up to 1,200 SEK daily and decrease gradually. You can qualify for these benefits if you’ve been a member of an unemployment insurance fund for at least 12 months.

Basic benefits range from 255 SEK to 510 SEK per day. This applies if you’ve been a member of Alfa-kassan for less than 12 months or if you’re not a member of any unemployment insurance fund.

Please note that regardless of whether you’re a member or not, you still need to meet certain conditions to qualify for unemployment benefits.

You can receive unemployment benefits for 300 benefit days, up to 5 days per week. If you have a child under 18 when your 300 benefit days run out, you will automatically get an additional 150 days.

Each benefit period starts with 2 qualifying days. These are days when you do not receive any benefits, and they are not deducted from your 300 benefit days.

Yes, if you are not a member of another unemployment insurance fund, you can apply for basic benefits from us. Regardless of the type of benefits you apply for, you must fulfill the requirements for benefits.
