When you receive benefits

If you become unemployed, you can apply for unemployment benefits from us. We pay out basic benefits and income based benefits to our members. Unlike other unemployment insurance funds, we also pay out basic benefits to those who are not members of Alfa-kassan or any other unemployment insurance funds. If you have not worked at all you are not eligible for benefits. Apply for benefits via Mina sidor.

The basic benefit

You can receive the basic benefit if you

The basic benefit is based on the number of hours you have worked. The maximum payment is SEK 510 per day. If you are not a member you pay an administration fee of SEK 7 for each day you receive benefits.

  • if you are a member of Alfa-kassan and have been one for 12 consecutive months or longer, membership in another unemployment insurance fund can be counted as well
  • fulfill the basic condition
  • fulfill the work requirement during your membership.

The income based benefit is based on the number of hours you have worked and your previous income. The income based benefit is a maximum of SEK 1 200 per day and is paid as follows:

How long can I receive benefits?

You can receive benefits for 300 benefits days, for a maximum of 5 days a week. If you have children under the age of 18, you will automatically receive an additional 150 days when your 300 days have been used.

Every period of benefits begins with 2 qualifying days (karensdagar). These are days for which you do not receive benefits and are not deducted from your 300 days of benefits.

When you have circa 70 benefits days left we check if you have met a new work requirement. If you have done so, you may be eligible for a new benefit period.

Good to know about the benefit
